Teacher Maria – through languages and culture to a deeper understanding of the world
Maria hails from Kazan, a bilingual and culturally diverse city on the Volga River. Her passion for languages and people's stories led her to study Russian philology, a master's degree in Romance-Germanic philology, and is currently completing a PhD in cultural studies, where she is researching how people preserve memories of their lives in local museums.
Teaching is more than just the transfer of knowledge for her – it is a sincere encounter between people. Marija believes that language is best learned through context, feeling and conversation. With her, you will develop not only vocabulary and grammar, but also cultural understanding, natural communication and confidence in speaking. She likes to include literature, authentic texts, stories from everyday life and cultural curiosities that make learning alive and meaningful.
You will learn how to use the language in real-life situations – when traveling, in conversations with people, when reading or writing – and how to develop a feel for the language in the process..
In her free time, she likes to read novels, draw, sew, and travel – so she understands the importance of practical communication And how much more does travel offer when you can speak at least a few words in the language of the place you're in. With her, every language lesson will also be a cultural adventure!
